The imagery of Andreas is both sophisticated and whimsical, featuring simple and playful geometric shapes in balanced compositions, together with organic textures and harmonizing color palettes. His perfectly synchronised animations has often been described as “oddly satisfying”, since the overall effect evokes a strangely hypnotizing feeling which makes the viewer relaxed and even meditative.

Bio

Thanks to the digital medium, I’m able to break the boundaries of physical laws, and ignore real world behaviours such as friction and gravity if needed.

Andreas Wannerstedt is a Stockholm based digital artist and art director who crafts unique 3D sculptures and mesmerizing looping animations. Wannerstedt’s practice encompasses interactions between shape and space, providing a whimsical portal into the perfect world of physics, movement, and predictability. Inspired by Autonomous sensory meridian response experiences, or ASMR, as well as real world mechanics and motion patterns from our everyday lives, his digital puzzles are brought to life with the help of computers and 3D softwares, enabling perpetual motion with an abstract touch. HIs optimal short loops, flood the viewer with visual stimulation and repetition triggering a meditative like state. During the last 16 years Wannerstedy has been doing commissioned work for recognisable brands such as Google, Adidas, Ikea, Spotify, Omega, Swarovski, Gucci, Burberry, Lacoste, COS, Jaguar etc. His animations have fascinated millions of viewers around the world and his work has been highlighted on Art Insider, Behance Network, Designboom, Stash Magazine, Fubiz, Vimeo Staff-Pick, 9gag, UNILAD, VT, Huffington Post, Business Insider, LAD Bible, FWA, Designcollector, and Mindsparkle Mag among others.
