Edition 1 of 1 I find myself photographing my childhood home whenever I return to the American Midwest. I find it deeply nostalgic and comforting. It is a reminder to me art can be created in the most familiar settings - no need to always go far and wide to find beauty. The family dog has always served an important role in my life - a true companion. As a friend, I couldn't deprive her of the food scraps she detected in the garbage can. I find this moment evokes a sense of home, warmth and humor. An ordinary scene that can be transformed into a painterly photograph with the right set of eyes.
