Process Model for Artist's Reform
Edition 1 of 1 What would happen if artists took over the art market entirely? I am constantly thinking about the corrupt and soul-less practices in the art world that deny artists their coin and their clout. Using Doug McAdams Political Process Model from his book “Political Process and the Development of Black Insurgency 1930-1970” I made a revised version for the art world. These are circumstances to overthrow the primordial art market (and develop a self-sustaining utopia.” Utopia is a slightly sardonic take on Ramon Rivera-Servera’s concept of queer utopia, where we can celebrate to liberate and vice versa. This model incorporates the use of my font but for the first time I painted in the style of traditional sign painting. This references the classic grocery store, car salesman, barber shop corporate modalities while bringing in the reader with a brilliant neon. If we capitalize on this moment, where the need for social movements, community, and Digital relationships are being reshaped and re interpreted. Now is the time to act, artists!
